Shot, blood drawn, and finger pricked

So, I thought I would have a monologue to you all after my recent visit to the doctor’s Today I had to get 2 shots, my blood was drawn, and my finger was pricked. It’s interesting how these discomforts become less painful as you grow up. I remember the last time I received a shot it felt very uncomfortable to imagine a needle piercing through my skin, yet this time, even with the thought in mind, I actually was able to relax. Maybe after we have more real life experiences and stressors… A small little shot won’t be that painful. Granted, I do have a puffy vein from the blood draw, and a slight awareness of how my arm is feeling at the moment, but these mild discomforts are nothing compared to the fear I used to have on those daunting days I knew I had to get a shot. In fact, my brain had kept me acutely aware of the impending doom my arm was to face, until this visit apparently. I had forgotten until this morning actually that I was going to have shots today.

I speak to you all today because it’s been a while. For some reason I wish to share with you what is going on in my life, even if it’s as small as a trip to the doctor’s. I don’t know how many of you continue to read these, as I have certainly been writing less than I used to. However, I’m writing to those who are still reading, or who used to enjoy the posts that I would share.

I wish you all the best as you go through your day, and I will try to write more after finals.
